Crispy, Tangy, and Utterly Delicious: Your New Favorite Pulled Pork Tostadas!
We first began making these epic pulled pork tostadas as a way to use up leftover pulled pork from our BBQ competitions. Quickly this became a family favorite and became one of our most popular dishes to serve the public at events like Smoke in the Spring and other barbecue events.
How to Make your Pulled Pork Tostadas
These BBQ tostadas and super easy to make and easily customizable.
Ingredients for BBQ Tostadas with Pulled Pork
To make the tostadas with smoked pulled pork you need just a few common ingredients. Here is what you will need.
Pulled Pork: The star of this dish is a slow-cooked pork shoulder that's been patiently transformed into succulent smoked pork. If you've got some leftover pulled pork from a weekend barbecue, even better! This recipe is fantastic for repurposing those delicious bits into something completely fresh and exciting.

Corn Tortillas: Crispy corn tortillas serve as the base for the tostadas. You can fry your own corn tortillas for ultimate freshness, or used your favorite store bought option. The goal is that satisfying crunch that holds up to all the deliciousness we're about to pile on.
Refried Beans: Next, a schmear of warm, savory refried beans provides a creamy, earthy foundation. This is where the magic truly begins to build. We find creamy refried beans work best for the recipe.

Sliced Jalapenos: To add an incredible sweet-and-spicy kick, we're adding some vibrant candied jalapenos. Trust me on this one; they cut through the richness of the pork beautifully. If you can't find candied jalapenos, you can substitute regular pickled jalapenos.
Cotija Cheese: A sprinkle of crumbly, salty cotija cheese adds that perfect tangy, dairy finish.
BBQ Sauce: Feel free to use your favorite BBQ sauce. For best results we prefer a sweet sauce like Kosmo's OP X-1.

Sour Cream: Because no tostada is complete without it, a drizzle of cool, creamy sour cream brings everything together, offering a refreshing contrast to the bold flavors. Mexican sour cream or "Crema Mexicana: is our favorite as it is a little thinner, and easier to drizzle onto the tostadas.
Cilantro: We typically finish the BBQ pulled pork tostadas with a little cilantro. This can be omitted for those that don't like cilantro.
Optional Ingredients: This recipe is completely customizable so feel free to add your favorite toppings like diced onions or tomatoes, or try our Texas Pickled Red Onions.
