Making the Bacon Wrapped Green Beans
This recipe for bacon-wrapped green bean bundles is elegant, easy, and undeniably a delicious dish. It requires only a few ingredients and can be made in under an hour.
Ingredients: What You Will Need
The key to perfect green bean bundle recipes is balancing the textures and flavors. This is what you will need.
Green Beans: You will need about a pound of fresh green beans (or try delicate French green beans). Snap or trim the ends.

Bacon: You will need about 10 slices of bacon. We prefer to use thinner, center cut bacon for the recipe as it cooks faster and keeps the beans from getting over cooked while the bacon cooks.
Ranch Seasoning: A dusting of Ranch Seasoning adds a little pop of flavor to the baked green bean bundles.
French Fried Onions: Or substitute French Fried Jalapenos, for a spicier version.

Gruyere Cheese: You will need about ⅓ cup of shredded gruyere cheese, or you can substitute your favorite. Gouda makes a great substitute.
Step-by-Step Instructions for Making the Green Bean Bundles
Optional: Bring a large pot of water to a boil, and blanch the beans for 2-3 minutes until they are bright green and crisp-tender. Immediately plunge the beans into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process and preserve that vibrant color. Drain well and pat dry.
Toss the green beans with the Ranch seasoning to evenly cover.

Create the Bundles: Gather 7 to 9 beans per bundle. Take a strip of bacon and starting at one end, tightly wrap bacon around the center of the bundle. Use 1 slice of bacon per bundle.
Arrange: Place the finished little bundles seam-side down in a shallow baking dish or a parchment lined baking sheet.

The Bake: Place the baking dish in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C). The initial baking time is about 25-40 minutes. When the bacon has reached your desired doneness, remove from the oven.

Evenly divide the fried onions over the top of the green bean bundles.

Next, top with the shredded Gruyere cheese. Return the pan to the oven.

Cook for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and is just starting to brown. Remove from the oven and let set for about 5 minutes before serving.
Serve with you favorite holiday food for a beautiful presentation and an unforgettable flavor! Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated gently.
