Ingredients
  

  • 1.25 Pounds Ground Beef
  • ½ Sweet Onion diced
  • 2 Jalapenos diced
  • 12 Ounce Spicy Tomato Sauce like Arrabbiata
  • 1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 2 Tablespoons Mustard Yellow or Spicy
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher Salt Or to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • Fried Jalapenos Option topping
  • 6 Hamburger Buns

Instructions
 

  • In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. 
  • Add the chopped jalapeno and onion to the skillet and cook until just softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the skillet. Stir well to combine and bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  • While the sauce simmers, prepare your hamburger buns. Toast them lightly if desired.
  • Spoon the warm sloppy joe mixture onto the buns and top with the optional fried jalapenos or your favorite toppings.
