Those that know me, know that I love a good bourbon. When the occasion arises that I don't want to drink it straight up I go with a classic. This Old Fashioned gets its bitterness from Campari, and has become our go to bourbon cocktail.

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker

Ingredients
  

  • 4 oz Rye Bourbon
  • 2 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 splash Campari about ¼ oz
  • 4-5 drops Orange Angostura Bitters
  • Ice
  • Orange Peal and Maraschino Cherries for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Combine the bourbon, simple syrup, Campari, and bitters in a cocktail shaker with a few cubes of ice, and shake well.
  • Pour into 2 whiskey glasses and garnish with the cherry and orange peal.
  • Repeat 2-3 more times and call it a night.
